I have had trouble compiling with either xetex or xelatex though, for reasons I have yet to work out. And as MartinC points out, your are severely limited with TexnicCenter does not support Unicode. However, it does give you a wider range of fonts to use.

Four years ago (the time this thread was initiated) TXC2alpha 3 was not available.bingocard wrote:The TeXnicCenter preview release 2.0 Alpha 3 handles Unicode and has a pre-configured XeLaTex to PDF profile. However, it's not a final stable release. So far I've been using it without issues though.
