Re: aligning equations and spacing with inparaenum

Hi Juanjo,

this is really an elegant approach!
I like amsmath for its flexible environments, so why not take some more time to choose the environment more carefully to meet the requirements, next time for me... instead of beginning to program a workaround. :D

Re: aligning equations and spacing with inparaenum

Hi dmt, here is the modification for a starred myalign-environment: \makeatletter \newenvironment{myalign*}{% \setlength{\mathindent}{0pt}% \setlength{\abovedisplayskip}{-\baselineskip}% \setlength{\abovedisplayshortskip}{\abovedisplayskip}% \start@align\@ne\st@rredtrue\m@ne }% {\endalign} \makeatot...

Re: aligning equations and spacing with inparaenum

Hi dmt! My idea concerning your equation alignment is: use the fleqn-Option of amsmath for left alignment and change some predefined lengths to get the result. Define your own align-environment: \usepackage[fleqn]{amsmath} \newenvironment{myalign}{% \setlength{\mathindent}{0pt}% \setlength{\abovedis...

Re: Error mesage

Hi George, your installed pfg version is probably too old, you may need to update it. If you would have problems with finding out the version or updating, you can tell us, what operating system (version) and distribution you are using. You can find the pgf version printed in the logfile of your docu...

Re: I want "appendix" instaed of "appendices"!

Hi Florian!

1. Redefine:
  1. \renewcommand*\appendixpagename{Appendix}
  2. \renewcommand*\appendixtocname{Appendix}

See documentation.

2. Try \not\ni

3. Not everything is available as MiKTeX package. In that case you can get it from CTAN and install it manually.

Re: TOC Oddness

Hi triplep, after writing \section* you still can add the section to the toc using \addcontentsline, example: \section*{section 1} \addcontentsline{toc}{section}{section 1} \subsection*{subsection A} \addcontentsline{toc}{subsection}{subsection A} But if you want to suppress all numbers of sections,...

Re: Can't copy-paste text from pdfs make with LaTeX

Hi apecar,

in case the problems are caused only by ligatures, like ff that you mentioned, you may disable ligatures. You could use the microtype, pdftex 1.30 or higher required, see documentation 8 Disabling Ligatures.

Re: Problems adding packages, unknown archive, corrupt?

Hi Ed,

have a look at MiKTeX 2.6 Known Issues, you may have to update your MiKTeX binaries as described there below Unknown archive file type.

Re: Free LaTeX replacement for MS Word? (wysiwyg)

Hi TriKri,

you could use aspell, there is a swedish dictionary available for it, as well as for ispell.
LyX shoud be able to use it, just go to Tools/ Spell checking or to Tools/ Preferences/ Language Settings.
